Greetings from David, Marlene and Karissa Groves, and what we call Buffalo Groves Bloodhound Ranch!
We are here to help you learn about Bloodhounds - Bloodhound History, Bloodhound Health, Bloodhound Standards, Bloodhound Puppies, and so much more!
We aren't the biggest Bloodhound Breeder (or Buffalo Ranch) and that's okay, we are Quality over quantity, and love educating & advocating for Purebred Bloodhounds!

We mainly love our dogs and try to honor each one from the time they are a wrinkly rowdy puppy until they are an old white faced senior.
We train them, care for them, vet & health test them, socialize them, discipline them, show them, laugh at them, sometimes cry over them, and are always proud of them! We truly cherish each day we have them!
We have had bloodhound for a 1/4 of a century! We are not dog collectors adding more and more dogs at a whim, nor do we remove (retire dogs) from the ranch when they are done breeding or showing! We LOVE & HONOR each of our bloodhounds for their entire life!
We are very committed to helping new & future bloodhound people (and the general public) learn about bloodhounds; but we also encourage law enforcement agencies along with search and rescue teams to learn more about the amazing working ability of bloodhounds!
We spend a lot of time advocating for bloodhounds, but also for purebred dogs, responsible dog breeders, responsible dog ownership and for common sense dog laws & legislation.
We thank our bloodhound mentors, the incredible Anne Legge (RIP), and Adriana Pavlinovich (both helped us with our foundation female, Sassy) and the most respected person in bloodhounds, be it on history, health, breeding, - Susan LaCriox Hamil, Quiet Creek Bloodhounds (co breeder of our foundation male, Sebastian).
Our dogs live in the house with us and are first and foremost our adorable (annoying) family pets! Our ranch is 400 acres, with thousands of acres around us. We have a couple acres fenced for the dogs providing plenty of outdoor time, exercise and enrichment. Their favorite things are going on ranch hikes, gathering firewood, chewing on logs & bones, bellowing when anyone drives up and playing hide & seek - sniffin'!
They do Conformation Dog Showing most attaining beyond their Championship & Grand Championship; many securing Group Placements, Group Wins along with Top 20 or Top 10 status in the breed (with limited showing). Some doing Rally, Obedience, Dock Diving, FastCat and most just preferring to use their noses and Trail (some even becoming top working law enforcement K9 Bloodhounds)!
Most of our bloodhounds enjoy doing Public Education at Dog Events, Schools, Libraries, County Fairs and a variety of other Community Events & Fundraisers, including Therapy work at Senior Homes.
We also offer and use our Bloodhounds for Judges Education, including showing people the purpose of bloodhounds, which is trailing!
All our bloodhounds are family members first! Loved by us and our kids, grandkids, as well as extended family, friends and our local community!
We think Bloodhounds are Wonderful Family Pets and they Enjoy doing Therapy Work and Public Education, can be Successful Show Dogs and are Amazing Working K9's!
